Bead Soup Book Tour Day 4

I can't believe the day is finally here ..we've waited so long to share this amazing book of Lori Anderson's ..having to keep this secret, for almost 2 years, was soo difficult..
It has been my good fortune to be a participant in 6 of the Bead Soup Party Blog hops and they were all great fun. So you can image how thrilled I was when Lori invited me to be a contributor in her Bead Soup Book..

The soup mix I received was created by the very talented Barbara Bechtel ..I fell in love with the bird "fly" focal and immediately knew what I wanted to do..showcase it in a  different manner and also to do something that was completely out of the box for me..
That focal shouted "I want Filigree"! Uh ok? I'd never done even one tiny thing that was wrapped filigree or anything else filigree..but when the muse is shouting at you..well, every beader knows, one must obey The Muse...oh and it's sparkly too..yep that's out of the box.

The basic rules for Bead Soup Party is that you must use the focal and the clasp..it's up to you to use the coordinating beads or items from your stash. The vision of this design, already forming in my head, didn't lend itself to the warm tone beads..and while I didn't want to be a pill,I was compelled to go forward with the image in my head...so those extra beads were returned to Lori . I loved what she created with them,  showing what a very different piece could be created using similar ingredients.

Bet you are surprised..similar focal ,size and color... Very different necklaces.

Oh and one other thing...my hat is off to all of you who submit pieces to magazines..
writing out the instructions was more difficult than I ever imagined.

Heather Powers received this soup mix from me ..of course none of us knew which person  would receive the ingredients we'd sent in..
You will just have to wait until it's Heather's turn to share what she created with these..

To help celebrate this wonderful book of Lori's ,I'm giving away this ceramic bee connector, in rusted jade glaze..it would make a fun Fall bracelet.

Leave a comment below by 9pm October 8th to be entered into the drawing. ..* if you are having to post by anonymous comment, you need to leave your name , and a way to contact you for the drawing.
please visit the blogs of some of the contributors to read about their experiences.
