From this .....
To this....
I started on my creative journey as a painter, which was my major in college..but switched over to ceramics..though i did continue to paint from time to time..
I love Gauguin and did a few paintings inspired by his colors and subject matter..
A dear friend inherited a rather large painting when i moved to Houston and the truth is I'd pretty much forgotten what it actually looked like..so she was kind enough to send a photo..
thought i would share it with you.

If you painted that, then you are a painter! It is beautiful, I would have loved to invest in a piece like that for my home, Nan.
Your talent never ceases to amaze me.
You are amazing.
That is a fantastic painting Nan!
You are a true artist in so many ways
Im looking forward to see You design more jewelry with this eye for beauty!
You work is beautiful! I started out as a painter too....but got distracted. I hope to return to it someday, especially large work.
Wow! I knew you were talented, but I didn't know you could paint like that. I remember the Day of the Dead piece you gave to Jana. I was amazed! It inspired me to make my sugar skulls.

your are a true artist, making a beautiful necklace with one of your pendants would be like wearing a painting around your neck!
take care ttfn Lana :)
I am lucky to be " a dear friend", and this piece is magnificent.......Plus, the size is impressing,
its about 6' x 3'.......vivid, beautiful, serene, strong
You should definitely continue to paint - without giving up ceramics. Gorgeous painting!!!
WOW, I had no idea! AMAZING!
You are quite talented Nan! Wow. I paint too but I dont have alot of patience with it, for me personally painting is time consuming and it tires me a bit. Your focals have quite made up for the painting!
