We have Raccoons

My dog Zoe did not get the message about the time change so each morning she comes in between 5-5:30am and gives a little wakeup bark..thanks Zoe, I was hoping for maybe another hours sleep..forget that..

But it's really turned out to be a good thing..it's nice to be the only one awake,as it takes me some time to warm up to the day..also since the weather is nice I go for a little quick walk...just to get the blood movin'

This morning as I'm headed out I see a Big cat across the street, who's that?, don't recognize him..and yes I am familiar with the neighbors pets on sight..granted my glasses were on the top of my head at the time..getting a better look I discover..Not a cat..a RACCOON..then another..they see me and dive into the sewer drain..

I've heard of sewer rats but never sewer raccoons..YIKES

Cute fellow! I guess the sewer is a good way to get around.

Oh gosh, aren't you glad he ran first? lol In Virginia, we would experience skunks at daybreak - or should I say, the dog would. Count your blessings. :)

Nan, I was at my daughters in Wichita KS this summer when I had the same thing happen. It was late evening and what I thought was a huge cat was a racoon ambling across the parking lot. Zip, in the bat of an eye he slid into the sewer. Nearly startled the bejeezus out of me.

Hi Nan, In ou house it's Lindi who wants to get up super early. We have racoons in the attic at the church and sometimes in Don's office!! At home we have oppossums which look, for all the world, like giant rats in the half light of dusk. We see them because WE have encrouched on THEIR turf.
Enjoy the holidays,
Emanda

I live right in town, but we have all kinds of wild life here, we have a slough, right accross the street from my house, so we have ducks and herron, and all kinds of fish and frogs and salamanders, also deer opossoms, raccons too also nutria, I realize the urban wild life are here because their homes have slowly been taken away from them, and it makes me sad, but I do love sharing my space with them too

We have raccoons too. They play in the pond off our deck and try to get the fish, who are all sleeping 4' down. And they come to the front porch to clean up any food that the stray cats may have left. I don't really mind them as long as they aren't making a nuisance of themselves.

Ha, that made me think of the commercial when the woman calls for her cat and the raccoon comes into the house and she says something like it's time to go to be with mommy.
Sewer raccoons, tehehe.

We have raccoons, but we live in the country. And when the racoon is bigger than the cocker spaniel, it is a problem!
