I've been at the vet half the day with a very sick ancient cat..got home to read on Hillary Pfeiffer's blog
http://hilarypfeifer.blogspot.com/2010/08/rip-mam.html that a good friend of Hillary's and a former metalsmith instructor of mine, Marcia Macdonald, had passed away this last month..
I had lost track of Marcia over the years but she was a person that no one could ever forget.
I have thought of her often over the years and quite a lot recently ..how i wish i had followed up my thought about contacting her..if just to tell her what an inspiration she was ..and how her vision touched me and my own work.
Her metalwork was amazing and so was she..
i am sitting here heartbroken over this sad news..thoughts and prayers go out to her family..she will be so very missed by soo many.
that weird gap after "hillary's blog" has a link to it..doing that annoying peek a boo deal.

Im so sorry to hear you lost such a talented and close friend! How sad. I hope your cat will be better its so hard when they get old..and hurtful...ox
I'm so sorry about your friend. I hope your kitty feels better soon.
Ahh, NOW I see why your Facebook page said you were having a bad day. So sorry. Was Marcia MacDonald someone from Oregon? Will your kitty be OK?
Sending lots of white light your way.

I'm sorry for your loss. I think it's always crushing when someone whom you've lost touch with passes without your knowledge. It's kind of like a sentence with no period. Sometimes in a sleepy haze, I find myself writing emails or about to dial phone numbers of friends and family members who have passed on, only remembering after I've done it that they are already gone.
I say... celebrate her memory by making something with the tools she gave you.
